GD = 62ft

DH = (x + 2)ft

If we substitute x for 60,

GD = 62ft

DH = (60 +2)ft = 62ft

Then, 62 + 62 = 124

Overall,  X is equivalent to 60 because it all adds up and the numbers match. This is the only solution as the Pythagorean Method (A^2 + B^2 = C^2) only works for right triangles, but there is still some connection. Also, i would like to point out that the picture does not give you any angles (such as 90º, 45º, etc.) so we can only assume that 60 is the right answer as it is equal to the left side. In this case, left and right should be equal.

Hope this answered your question.
