Following are the steps for getting the answer:

Given:

3+10x=40

To find:

value of x

solution:

we have to find the value of x

given equation is 3+10x=40

we will solve it by transfer method

3+10x=40

now,  transfer 3 to the right hand side

we know that, if any number is transferred left to right or right to left it will change the sign

so, we get

10x=40-3

10x=47

x=47/10

x=4.7

we will check is it right or not

put the value of x=4.7 into 3+10x=40

3+10×4.7=40

3+47=40

40=40

L.H.S=R.H.S

hence the value of x is 4.7
