the angle substended in the centre is twice the angle substented by it in any part of the remaining circle,therefore,

angle AOB =2 times of angle ACB

angle AOC =2×40°

angle AOC =80°

in the given figure

arc AB subtend an angle AOB to the center and also angle ACB to the circle

so by the given theorem

AOB=2 x ACB

X =2x 40 degree

so X=80 degrees
