4x+8y=40
y=0.8
4x+8(0.8)=40
4x+6.4=40
4x=40-6.4
4x=33.6
x=33.6/4
x=8.4

Given :

- y = 0.8

- Equation : 4x + 8y = 40

To find :

The value of x

Solution :

Substituting value of y = 0.8 in above given equation

4x + 8×(0.8) = 40

4x + 6.4 = 40

4x = 40 - 6.4

4x = 33.6

x = 33.6 / 4

x = 8.4

• Hence, value of x for which y is equal to 0.8 is 8.4
