Given : (2/3)( x/2  + 12) = ( 1/2)(x/3 + 14 ) - 3  

To Find :  Value of x in the Equation

S0lution:

(2/3)( x/2  + 12) = ( 1/2)(x/3 + 14 ) - 3

=> (2/3)(1/2)(x + 24) = (1/2)(1/3)(x  + 42)- 3

=> (1/3)(x + 24) = (1/6)(x + 42) - 3

Multiply both sides by 6

=> 2(x + 24) =  (x  + 42) - 18

=> 2x + 48 =  x + 42  - 18

=>  x + 48  = 24

=> x = 24  - 48

=> x = - 24

Verification

(2/3)( x/2  + 12) = ( 1/2)(x/3 + 14 ) - 3  

LHS  = (2/3)( x/2  + 12)  = (2/3)(-24/2 + 12) = (2/3)(-12 + 12)
