When you have fractions and decimals in the same equation, I am of the opinion that it is always best to turn the decimal into a fraction. Doing that here has .6 becoming 6/10 . So now what you have is as follows:

2/3x=6/10

Sincethese two fractions are equal, you can cross multiply the numerators and opposite denominators to get 20=18x which in turn means x=20/18=10/9 .

(I might be way off but I suspect you meant to say “2/3 of x” which would be written (2/3)x or 2x/3. If this is the case, you end up with 20x=18 and x=18/20=9/10
