What is the value of x+y for the equation? y=4x-5, and y=-4x+19

given = y=4x-5 and y=-4x+19

there left hand sides are equal then right hand side would also be equal

therefore, 4x-5=-4x+19

after shifting

4x+4x=19+5

8x=24

x=3

putting this value in the given value

4x-5=y

4(3)-5=y

12-5=y

7=y

to find x+y

i.e 3+7=10
