∴ 3y + 53° + 7y - 55° = 180°

∴ 3y + 7y + 53° - 55° = 180°

∴ 10y - 2° = 180°

∴ y - 2° = 180° / 10°

∴ y = 18° - 2°

∴ y = 16°

1) ( 3y + 53 )° = 3 ( 16° ) + 53°

= 48° + 53°

= 101°

2) ( 7y - 55 )° = 7 ( 16° ) - 55°

= 112° - 55°

= 57°

Step-by-step explanation:

3y + 53° = 7y - 55° (alternate exterior angles are equal)

55° + 53° = 7y - 3y

108° = 4y

108°/4 = y

27° = y
