The temperature of air increases during summer. The air molecules possess high kinetic energy during higher temperatures which makes them to vibrate faster which in turn increases the speed of sound. During winter season the speed of sound decreases. From this we can say that the speed of sound is proportional to the square root of absolute temperature. As summer temperature are on the sounds travel faster.
