At first monocotyledons plants are known for its single cotyledons in the seeds.
Venation in leaves in monocot is "pinnately parallel venation".
And it is not common for all the monocot plants.
The size of the leaf varies the length but the venation is same.
Ex:- Leaf of the grass differs from the leaf of the banana.

Monocots is a seed of One cotyledon.
Hence have parallel venation..
