Given :  y=4 x²

To find :  Vertex  

Solution:

If the equation of a parabola is in the form

y  = ax²  + bx  + c

Then x vertex  = -b/2a

comparing

y = 4x²  with y  = ax²  + bx  + c

a = 4   b = 0  c = 0

=>  x vertex  = -0/2(4) = 0

putting x = 0 in y = 4x²

=> y  = 4(0)² = 0

(0 , 0)  is the vertex of y  = 4x²

other method

a vertex is a point of where the first derivative of curvature is zero.

y = 4x²

=> dy/dx = 8x

=> 8x = 0

=> x = 0

=> y = 0

(0 , 0) is the the vertex of y  = 4x²
