Given:

Pressure exerted by mercury = 99960 Pa

Density of mercury = 13600 kg/m³

And g = 9.8 m/s²

Solution:

We have the relation,

P={\rho}gh

where,

P=pressure    \rho=density   g = acceleration    h = height

Now substitute the values in above relation

99960 = (13600)(9.8)(h)

99960 = (133280)h

h=\frac{99960}{133280}

h=0.75m

∴ The vertical height of mercury = 0.75 metres
