Given, m=0.5kg,W=1J,g=10ms

−2

Energy spent in lifting the body is stored as potential energy of the body.

∴U=1J

Let the vertical height be h.

∴U=mgh

or, 1=0.5×10×h

or, h=

0.5×10

=0.2m=20cm

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) W.D by applied force,

w

f

=f

s

=60×5=300J

(ii) change in PE,

PE=mgh=5×9.8×5=245J

(iii) KE=W.D. by resultant force,

=w

g

+w

f

=−245+300=55J

(iv) velocity since KE=55,

V=

5

55×2

=4.69m/s
