Concept

  • Voltage is a quantitative measure of the potential difference in charge between two places in an electrical field. It is also known as electromotive force.
  • The rate of passage of electrons in a conductor is defined as electric current. The ampere is the SI unit of electric current.
  • Resistance is a characteristic of a conductor that opposes the flow of electric current through it.

Given

Electric current given is 15 amps

Resistance given is 8 ohms

Find

We need to find the voltage of the circuit

Solution

Resistance = 8 ohm

Current =  15 A

Voltage = ?

According to formula ,

V = IR

V = 15*8 = 120 V

Hence the voltage is 120 V
