To Find : volume and surface area of can

Solution:

A powdered milk can is of cylindrical shape

Volume of a cylinder = πr²h

surface area of can = 2πr(r + h)

r = Radius   = Diameter/2  = 12/2  = 6 cm

h = Height  = 24 cm

π ≈ 3.14

Volume of can = (3.14) (6)² * 24

= 2,712.96  cm³

surface area of can = 2 (3.14) (6) ( 6 + 24)

= 12 * 3.14 * 30

= 1130.4  cm²

Volume of can =  2,712.96  cm³

Surface area of can = 1130.4  cm²
