The volume of 7.1 gram of chlorine at STP is 2.249568 L.

Solution:

In chemistry STP stands for “Standard Temperature and Pressure”.

Volume of 1 Mole of gas at STP = 22.4 L

We know that Molar Mass of Chlorine = 70.9060 g/mol

Given that, Mass of chlorine = 7.1 gram

Therefore, Mole of chlorine = Mass of chlorine /molar mass of chlorine =\frac{7.1}{70.9060}

= 0.100132 Moles

Volume of 1 Mole of gas at STP = 22.4 L

Hence,

Volume of 0.100132 Mole of chlorine at STP =22.4 L \times 0.100132

= 2.249568 L

Volume of the given chlorine is 2.249568 L.
