Answer: 0.4 Liter or 400-milliliter volume of a 0.1 M HCl solution containing 1.46 grams of HCl.

Explanation:

Here

From the given question

Molarity of HCl solution = 0.1 M

Mass of HCl = 1.46 grams

We know that

Molarity = \frac{no.of moles}{Volume (L)}

Therefore from the above equation, we have molarity but to find the Volume, we required no. of moles

Therefore,

No. of moles of HCl = \frac{Given Mass of HCl}{Mol.Wt of HCl}

For Mol. wt of HCl

mol.wt of H = 1 gram/mol

mol. wt of Cl = 35.5 gram/mol

Therefore Mol.wt of HCl = H + Cl = 1 +35.5 = 36.5

Now,

No. of moles  = \frac{1.46}{36.5} = 0.04 mole

Now, we know that,

Molarity = \frac{no.of moles}{Volume (L)}

The volume of HCl (L) = \frac{no. of moles}{Molarity}

The volume of HCl (L) = \frac{0.04}{0.1}

The Volume of HCl (L) = 0.4 litre or 400 mililitre.
