The Wall Street Crash of 1929 was a stock market crash that occurred in late October 1929. The another terms synonymous with Wall Street are  stock exchange, stock market, etc.

Explanation:

It started on October 24,1929 and continued until October 29, 1929. The share prices on the New York Stock Exchange started to collapse. The DJIA fell more than 12% (from $380 to $301), resulting in a loss of $30 billion in the value of New York Stock Exchange-listed stocks. The crash came after a speculative bubble where prices for common stocks had been inflated to the breaking point by an unsustainable boom in business activity and consumer spending, which together with other factors like bank failures and global events triggered the most devastating.

This was the first of many financial crises for the United States in the 1930s and one of the most significant downturns in modern times before the Great Depression of the 1930s. The crash followed a period of optimism fueled by daily newspaper investor columns touting certain stocks as sound investments. It marked the entrance into a full-blown panic that lasted until 1932.
