Earlier the water in the rivers were clean, safe for drinking, and bright. The reason being that; people in earlier times were very cautious about the cleanliness of water and there was lesser population, pollution, industrial waste(getting deposited in water), and more greenery, trees, plants, waterfalls and mountains.

Today we are living in a concrete jungle with only artificial world around us, we do never think about mother nature, who gave birth to our human race and we are actually destroying her.
