What is the wavelength of a wave represented by the equation y = 2 sin 4π(10t – x), if x and t are measured in centimetres and seconds respectively? [π = 3.14] A. 0.16cm B. 0.50cm C. 1.57cm D. 2.00cm

y = 2 sin 4π(10t – x)

y = 2 sin (40πt – 4πx)

Comparing,

y=Asin (wt-kx)

k= 4π

As per the formula,

k=2π/wavelength

wavelength=2π/4π

wavelength=0.5cm
