Weathering is the breaking down or dissolving of rocks and minerals on Earths surface. Once a rock has been broken down, a process called erosion transports the bits of rock and minerals away. Water, acids, salt, plants, animals, and changes in temperature are all agents of weathering and erosion.

Here is your answer......❣

Q. What is the weathering?

Ans: The process of disintegration and decomposition of rocks in situ is generally called weathering. Weathering is essentially the breakdown of rocks due to chemical and mechanical processes at their places. Weathering involves two types of changes in the rocks,

(i) physical or mechanical change &

(ii) chemical change. So weathering can be defined as all aspects of the mechanism of breakdown of rocks.
