as we know W=mass × acceleration due to gravity that is 10 approx
there for weight of book = 1.5×10
=15 Newton

Hey Jwhiteside4600,
We know Weight,w=Mass,m×Gravity,g
w=mg
So , as per question,
m=1.5kg
g on surface of earth=9.8ms^-2
So Weight,w=1.5×9.8=14.7 Newtons
Hope u came to a conclusion
Best regards
