Tooth enamel is the hardest outer covering of our teeth..
That hard substance that coats your tooth and makes the shell is actually made of a number of different minerals, the biggest one of those being hydroxyapatite. These minerals are what makes the enamel of the tooth so strong, and basically helps to protect the dentine and pulp cavity from being damaged by anything....
