When we are going to form a square by placing rectangles of size 6cm by 2 cm side by side , then same minimum length should be divisible by 2 and 6 , and it is nothing but LCM of 2 and 6 .

LCM of 2 and 6 is 6

so,

side of the square will be 6 cm and perimeter = 4×6=24 cm
