hi there,
the work done by satellite is zero as the displacement is 0.
ie w=fs,since s=0 as initial position =final position ,work is zero.
i hope this helps u ...

Work done = Force * displacement * Cos Ф,
where Ф = angle between force and displacement vectors.
When the satellite moves UNIFORMLY in a CIRCULAR orbit, the force on the satellite along the circular path is 0. Therefore the work done is 0 in that direction.
There is a centripetal force acting along the radius, and the displacement is along the tangential direction. So Ф = π/2. Hence, the work done is 0.

Another way, is the potential energy (gravitational) is constant as radius is fixed. The kinetic energy is same as speed is constant. There is no friction or other loss. Hence, there is no work done.
