What is the work done to increase the velocity of a car from 40 km/hr to 60 km/hr if the mass of the car is 1000 kg ? Does the work done by the force have a negative or a positive magnitude ?

work done =change in kinetic energy

KE1=1/2×1000×40×40

=800000

KE2=1/2×1000×60×60

=1800000

work=1800000-800000

=1000000joule
