Given :

mass = m = 10kg

distance = s = 10m

To find:

Work done by the man , W ?

Solution:

  • Horizontal force applied by the man on the box is given by, F= mg

F = 10 \times 10 = 100 N (g=10m/s^2)

Work done is given by , W = Fscos\theta

Taking theta here as 0 since the box is pushed horizontally and substituting the values , we get ;

W = 100 \times 10 \times cos 0 = 1000 Joules
