Universal indicator is a substance which tells how acidic or basic a substance it by changing its colour and also tells the pH value of that particular substance. For example :- it changes its colour into green when the pH of a substance is 7.

Universal indicator:
It gives different colours at different pH. The pH range of universal indicator is 4 to 11.
For example:
At pH = 4, it gives red colour.
At pH = 10, it gives blue-violet colour.
