In case we can still talk but apps convert what we say into written words, it would be the same like now, but people would look so crazy, as everyone will always be talking to themselves !
In case those converting apps don't exist, we will have to use voice and video calls which are better (But people would prefer voice calls because it have less contact which they don't like a lot in those days ), and of course visiting people would be much better according to the pyramid of communication (The best is face to face, followed by voice calls, then chatting and sending emails), because those apps made us loose intimacy between us and our beloved ones and without them we would have few stronger relationships, not just many fake ones
