GIVEN EQUATION OF LINE -

dx + ry = 24

value of r = 3

FORMULA TO BE USED

y =  mx + c

where m = slope of line and c = y - intercept

SOLUTION

dx + ry = 24

Substituting r with 3

dx + 3y = 24

dx - 24 = -3y [Transposing 24 and 3y on either side]

\frac{dx}{-3} +(\frac{-24}{-3}) = y\\\\y = (\frac{-d}{3})x + 8 \\\\Equating, y=mx+c,\\\\c= 8

ANSWER -

Y - intercept in the equation is 8
