y-intercept of a function is obtained by putting x = 0.
Therefore, y-intercept = (0 - 6) × (0 - 2) = 12

f(x) = (x – 6)(x – 2)

y-intercept occurs when x = 0

When x = 0

f(x) = (x – 6)(x – 2)

f(0) = (0 - 6) (0 - 2)

f(0) = (-6)(-2)

f(0) = 12

Answer: y-intercept = (0, 12)

Additional notes: To find x-intercept

f(x) = (x – 6)(x – 2)

x-intercept occurs when f(x) = 0

(x – 6)(x – 2) = 0

x - 6 = 0 or x = 2

x = 6 or x = 2

The x-intercept are : (6, 0) and (2, 0)
