As the function here in the question is given as 0 so we can write the f(x) as f(x) = log3(x-1).

Now putting f(x) = 0 , so 0 = log3(x - 1)

Thus now taking antilogarithm we will get.

3^0 = x - 1.

Thus, the value of x = 2.

To get the vertical asymptote we need to find the domain of the function f(x) which is domain x>1 thus x-1>0 thus x>1. Which explains that the graph will never touch at x=1 which will be the vertical asymptote.
