Mankind, despite all the developments, still cannot stop the ozone layer from growing bigger and bigger or the seas from getting more polluted. Species go extinct and the news is suppressed.
The poet emphasises the fact that as pollution and degradation of mother nature carries on unabated, the time for earth is just speeding by.
