It means that too many human beings hoard food and money and don't share it with others. There is ample supply of everything for everybody but greed and selfishness makes people unwilling to share.
If more people were willing to give there would be way less hunger in this world. There is already enough for everyone...., but the greedy and selfish gobble it up and store it all for themselves.
