hey there,
I am meritkshitij here.
WHAT IS THERMIT REACTION ?
the reaction between iron(III) oxide and aluminum is called between thermit reaction.
EQUATION
Fe2O3(s)+2Al(s)-->2Fe(l)+Al2O3(s)+Heat
FEAUTURE OF THIS REACTION
these type of reaction are highly exothermic.
A tremendous amount of heat is evolved .
Metals are obtained in molten state.
NOTE-a reaction in which heat is released is called exothermic reaction.
Thanks.
USES
molten metals are used to join railway tracks,machines and in factories.
