Thermite Process - The process of igniting Aluminium and Ferric oxide (Fe2O3) is called thermite reaction.  This is an exothermic reaction. Iron obtained in this process is in molten state.
Fe₂O₃ (s) + Al (s) →Al₂O₃ + 2 Fe(l) + Heat
Thermite reaction used for the welding of rails (joining metals) called as thermite welding.

Hey !!

Thanks for the question.

THERMITE PROCESS : Thermite process involves the chemical reaction of metal oxides with aluminium.

USES OF THERMITE PROCESS :

⏩ Aluminium is a highly reactive metal so it displaces other metals of less reactivity from its oxides.

⏩ This reaction is highly exothermic. The amount of heat evolved is so large that the metals produced in molten state.

⏩ The reaction of Iron oxide with aluminium is used to join railway tracks and cracked machine parts.

2Al + Fe203 ------> Al203 + 2Fe + Heat
