Answer:

x= √6+√5

to find : the value of x²+1/x²

solution :

because x = √6+√5

therefore , 1/x

= 1/√6+√5

= 1/√6+√5 ✖ √6-√5/√6-√5

= √6-√5 / (√6)²-(√5)²

according to identity (a+b)(a-b)=a²-b²

= √6-√5 / 6-5

= √6-√5 / 1

= √6-√5

Now,

x + 1/x = √6+√5+√6-√5

= 2√6

Squaring both sides.....

( x + 1/x)²= (2√6)²

according to identity (a+b)² = a²+b²+2ab

x² + 1/x² + 2*x*1/x = 24

x² + 1/x² + 2 = 24

x² +1/x² = 24 - 2

x² + 1/x² = 22

Answer....

therefore the answer is (d) 22.....
