Thomson's Atomic Model

=> According according to Thomson atom in sperical in shape.

=> Inside the atom all positive charge and mass is uniformly distributed throughout the atom.

=> The negatively charged electrons are present inside the atom at Same places.

=> According to Thomson also atom is over neutral.

=> This model is also known as Plum pudding model or Water melon model.

Drawbacks

=> He considered that all Positive charge and mass is uniformly spread but Rutherford violated this in his (Rutherford's Gold Foil Experiment).

=> Also he completely neglected the motion of electron.

Note-

In the attachment

(i) is positive charge

(ii) is negative charge
