The 3 tier - quasi judicial system is a method adopted by the consumer courts in India regarding on the level of damage and money claims.
The district court deals with money matters that have claims upto Rs 20 lakh.
The state court deals with money matters and claims from 20 lakh to 1 crore.
The national court deals with money matters and claims exceeding 1 crore
These are the three courts set up by COPRA for redressal of consumer dispute.

The three tier system was made under COPRA.Under COPRA a three-tier quasi-judicial machinery at the district, state and national levels was set up for the redressal of consumer disputes.
1) The district level court deals with the cases involving claims up to Rs. 20 lakhs.
2) The state level court deals with the cases involving claims between Rs. 20 lakhs to 1 crore.
3) The national level court deals with the cases involving claims exceeding Rs. 1 crore.
