Threshold frequency is defined as the minimum frequency of photons required to eject electrons from a metal surface
It is denoted by ν°.
Together with Plank's constant it is called threshold energy or work function i.e hv°.
The frequency is such that the electrons are just emitted from the surface. If the frequency is below the threshold frequency then no electron will be emitted. If the frequency is above the threshold frequency then electron emitted will have kinetic energy.
