➡Tissues are groups of cell that perform a common function. There four basic types of tissues: Epithelial Tissue: It covers all the organs or body surface to protect that body from moisture loss, bacteria, and internal injury.
Tissues are groups of cell that perform a common function. There four basic types of tissues:
➡Epithelial Tissue:- It covers all the organs or body surface to protect that body from moisture loss, bacteria, and internal injury. There are two types of Epithelial tissue:
- Covering and lining Epithelium: It covers the outermost layer of the skin and other organs, and the internal surface lining of lymph vessels and digestive tract.
- Glandular Epithelium:Secretes hormones or other product such as stomach acid.
Connective Tissue:- It perform a variety of functions including support and structure to the body. This tissue has two types:
- Loose connective tissue holds the structure together. For example, It holds the outer layer of skin to the underlying muscle tissue. This tissue also found in fat layers, lymph nodes, and red bone marrow.
- Fibrous connective tissue holds the body part together. It is found in ligaments, tendons, and bone.
Nervous Tissue:- It is present in the entire nervous sytem including brain and spinal chord, responsible for coordinating the activities and movement of the body through its network of nerves. It consists of two kind of nerve cells:
- Neurons are the basic structural unit of the nervous system. Each cells consists of cell body, dendrites, and axon.
- Neuroglia provide support functions for the neurons. These cells does not multiply and, are formed during birth and last till death.
Muscle Tissue:- It makes muscle of the body. This tissues is made up of muscle fibres that contain many myofibrills, which are the parts of the fibres that actually contract. This tissue comes in three types:
- Skeltal muscle is attached to the bones and cause movements of the body.
- Cardiac muscle is found in the heart.
- Smooth muscle lines the walls of blood vessels and certain organs such as the digestive and urogential tracts.
