Tissue is a group of simliar cells performing a common function.
Tissues are composed of cells and extracellular matrix.
On the basis of the functions of their cells, composition and relative amounts of the matrix, animal tissues are broadly classified into four types:
1. Epithelial
2. Connective
3. Muscular
4. Nervous
Based on whether the cells being formed are capable of dividing or not, plant tissues are classified into two main groups:
1. Meristematic
2. Permanent
