Tissues are the layer or group of cells of the same type carrying out a specific function example muscle tissues and nerve tissues etc.

Animal tissues are grouped into four different types:
(i) Epithelial tissues
(ii) Connective tissues
(iii) Muscle tissues
(iv) Nervous tissues

Plant tissues are divided into three different types:-
(i) Epidermal Tissue also known as the Epidermis
(ii) Ground tissue
(iii) Vascular Tissues
