To admire a piece of art means to appreciate an artwork for its qualities. Here art is a relative term and so is appreciation. Art may mean paintings, books, photographs, movies etc. to some while for some others art maybe any day-to-day activity like the art of cooking, etc. Further, each person may appreciate an artwork for their own reasons. Some for its aesthetic beauty, some others for a powerful message that it is sending across and so on.

To admire pieces of art involves admiration of two concepts. One concept is to involve the actual art in various forms such as the colors chosen, the finesse involved and so on. The other concept is to appreciate the artist for his caliber and skill in bringing out such a beautiful piece of art.
