What is Tollen’s reagent? What would you observe on heating Tollen’s reagent with formalin in a test tube?

 Tollen’s reagent is ammoniacal silver nitrate solution. On heating Tollen’s reagent with formalin in a test tube, a shining silver mirror is formed on the inside walls of test tube. Also, formaldehyde is oxidised to form carboxylic acid.
