Tollen’s reagent is ammonical silver nitrate solution. Its formula is [Ag(NH3)2]NO3.
It is a mild oxidising agent which oxidises aldehydes to carboxylate anion along with the production of a silver metal. This silver metal deposits on test tube leading to the formation of silver mirror.....
