hydroxiapatite constitutes the tooth enamel.if we leave our mouth uncleaned there forms a bacteria called plaque which feeds on sugar. this is present in the food we eat after it. so decay occurs.doctors tell us to use tooth paste to avoid formation of plaque and to prevent from decay.
