What is tooth enamel chemically? State the condition when it starts corroding. What happens when food particles left in the mouth after eating degrade? Why do doctors suggest about the use of tooth powder/tooth paste to prevent tooth decay? plss answer as soon as possible.....thanksssssss

Tooth enamel is chemically known as Calcium Phosphate.
1)When it starts corroding, the pH of our mouth drops below 5.5.
2)When food particles are left in the mouth, then the bacteria present in mouth transforms the food particles into acids. This hastens the corrosion of our teeth.
3)Doctor suggest the use of tooth powder or toothpaste to remove the food particles stuck in our mouth for healthy gum and teeth.

tooth enamel is chemically a compound called calcium phosphate.when we eat food, sometimes the food stucks in between the teeth.
further bacteria acts upon this food to decay it and releases an acid . this acid further acts upon calcium phosphate(i.e. enamel) reacts with it and corrodes it . this corrosion leads to the thinning of the layer of the enamel and as a result the strength of the enamel decreases and ultimately after some time the tooth decays.
doctorss suggests to use toothpaste because this toothpaste is a base .it reacts with the acid present on the teeth to neutralize it and produce salt and water.
