Torque :-

Torque is an turning force that tends to cause rotation around an axis of an object.

\underline{\underline{\bold{\mathfrak{Turning\:force\:}}}}:

Particular point at which an fixed object can rotate around it, then that point is called a pivot.

⟹ Then when a force is applied on the surface of the object it is forced to move around that pivot point , this is called as turning force.

⟹ The turning effect caused by the applied force is known as the moment.

⟹ The turning force is called a torque .

⟹ it is the rotational equivalent of linear force.

⟹ Its SI unit is Newton metre

Example:

When we twist a bottle lid or cap to open there application of torque is used.Same applies for while closing the cap or for the taps.

Hi friend_______,

★ The rotating or turning effect of a force about a fixed point or fixed axis is called moment of the force about the point or Torque (τ).

★ It is measured by the product of the force and the perpendicular distance is between the fixed point or the fixed axis and the line of action of the force.

 \:    \boxed{ \boxed { \rmτ=F×d}}

★ It SI unit is Nm.

Example:

Opening the door:

A person pushing a closed-door is applying a static door because the door isn't rotating despite the force applied. Pedalling a cycle at a constant speed is also an example of static torque as there is no acceleration.

Thank you..
