When a monochromatic ray of light while passing from a denser to a rarer medium exceeds the critical angle value for the given pair of media, the light ray instead of refracting reflects back into the same medium with nearly 100% of its energy. This is called Total Internal Reflection.

Hey !!

When a ray of light travels from an optically denser medium into a rarer medium at an angle greater than the critical angle, it reflects back into the denser medium. This phenomenon is called total internal reflection.

Good luck !!
